But you might still be confused as to what the concept of Twitter is, or how it is used, or why it is so popular. Keep reading if this is the case! You can understand the basics of Twitter by reading this short, simple crash course.
The concept of Twitter is really quite simple: by using it, people can share their thoughts with people all across the world. In a manner very similar to facebook status updates, Twitter allows its users to express their thoughts using updates of 140 or fewer characters. Twitter is free to its users, and people can “tweet” (post updates) and frequently or infrequently as they desire. Users can use Twitter to follow other Twitterers and to accumulate their own followers. When a Twitterer follows someone, that person’s tweets will begin to show up in their news feed. Also, unless someone’s Twitter page is set to private, you can read someone’s tweets without following them, by simply visiting that person’s page. Maybe you set up a Twitter account of your own a while back, but you eventually ditched the account because you could not figure out how it worked. Once you understand Twitter, however, it is quite simple; if you are hoping to use Twitter to interact with friends and people you know, follow those people, and they can follow you back. If, on the other hand, you want to use Twitter to connect to people you do not currently know, begin following people whose tweets interest you, and make sure you tweet about things that will interest these people; eventually, you will start to fine more people whose tweets you appreciate, and more people will find you. The huge networks of communication that Twitter opens up is one of the simplest explanations for the immese popularity of Twitter. Twitter allows people to interact with other individuals who they will never have a chance to meet in person, but who nevertheless share similar interests and ideas. Twitter can be used to build business, or to make new friends, or to simply enjoy “hanging out with” and interacting with people. Like most things that are immensely popular, Twitter is easy to understand and is easy to use. Once you get going, you might just find that you do not want to stop! @@ADSENSE@@.Tagged with: General
